Getting to know us ...
Tortology is a new cake company based in Walthamstow, London E17. The name Tortology comes from “Torta" meaning cake in Italian and “Logos” meaning study in ancient Greek, thus generating 'the study of cake'.
The company has been created by opera singer and passionate baker Maya Sapone who is married to renowned jazz musician Ivo Neame.
What we do
We create beautiful and delicious homemade artisan cakes, mini cakes & cupcakes for weddings, birthday parties, dinner parties, corporate events and any other special celebrations that require a sweet relief.
Other sweet temptations include a selection of pies & tarts, cheesecakes, brownies, biscuits, and Italian style desserts such as the beloved “Tiramisù”. We also bake savoury tarts, pies, loaves, muffins and quiches.
Our core mission is to create an amazing tasting product with a beautiful, natural appearance.

Our 'Caking' style ...
We believe that a cake should not only look beautiful, but also, most importantly, it should taste absolutely delicious. We use the finest and freshest ingredients to create some of the most mouthwatering combinations of flavours.
Our cakes generally contain less sugar then most cakes on the market, so you won’t lose your teeth, and the experience of eating one will leave you wanting more.
We are very happy to tailor our cakes to suit your palate, as well as giving our own suggestions regarding flavour combinations.
Eat with your eyes
All our cakes look beautiful and natural, whilst screaming “Eat me, eat me!”.
Our decorating style ranges from classic to artistic and we are happy to take any suggestions from clients in order to create their dream cake.
We generally love to decorate with fresh edible flowers, fresh or dried fruits, herbs, spices, and edible confetti (made with dried petals, dried fruits and nuts).
We are happy to create naked cakes as well as completely covered ones. Designs range from one to three tiers, square or round cakes. Please note that we do not cover cakes with fondant icing.
We can accommodate dairy-free, nut-free and gluten-free, but not other types of dietary requirements such as vegan and egg-free. Please note that, although our cakes can be nut-free or gluten-free, they are prepared in the same kitchen as other baked goods cooked with nuts and wheat. Please consider this very carefully if you have a serious nut allergy.
