FAQ

1. What kind of cakes do you make?

  • I make tall, layered round or square cakes.

  • Please choose from the CAKE MENU section to see my flavours, or let me know your own flavour combination.

  • My preferred medium to ice cakes is Buttercream. My favourite one is Italian Meringue Buttercream which is lush, silky and not too sweet. However I also use other types of buttercream such as French, Russian, Bean-paste, American or Ganache Buttercream.

  • I make fully iced, semi-naked and naked cakes.

2. What about design?

  • I produce contemporary designs straight out of my imagination. My aim is to create beautiful artistic cakes using a fresh approach, therefore each cake is unique and cannot be reproduced.

  • I like to draw inspiration from paintings, nature and even details you might find on a dress. I am very free in my style and I like to work with contrasting elements.

3. What I don't do is ...

  • Copy cakes made by other bakers or replicate exact copies of my own cakes.

      Each cake is unique.

  • Novelty cakes and cakes covered in fondant (sugar-paste).

  • Cakes for others to decorate.

4. When can I place an order?

  • I would normally need at least two weeks notice, although I strongly recommend sending an enquiry at least a month in advance if you know you'll need a cake for a certain date. 

  • I only take a limited number of orders.

  • I don't own a shop and I only take orders for bespoke cakes.

5. How do I place an order?

  • Please send me an e-mail with your enquiry - I generally try to respond within 24 hours.

  • I would need to know for how many people you'll need the cake and what the occasion is.

  • If you have a specific request in terms of flavour please do let me know in your enquiry.

  • Delivery not available, collection only in Waltham Forest, London E17.

6. ALLERGENS

  • My kitchen isn't nut-free. I won't take orders from customers with severe allergies to: PEANUTS, TREE-NUTS. My kitchen is also not free from: EGGS, MILK, GLUTEN, WHEAT, SOYA. I won't take orders from customers with severe allergies to any of these ingredients.

7. Do you make Gluten-free, Egg-free and Dairy-free cakes?

  • Yes, I do.

8. What about payment?

  • All orders are confirmed upon full payment 7 days in advance.

  • Bank transfer is my preferred method for receiving payment. I will send you an order confirmation via e-mail with my bank details.

  • I do not accept payment in cash.

9. What's the price range?

  • The price depends on cake size, type of ingredients, design complexity, time & labour. 

  • The starting price for a tall, layered 6" cake for around 10-12 people is £100. 

  • Extra deluxe ingredients and complex decorations not included in the starting price.

  • To enquire about different sizes or to get a quote please get in touch via e-mail.

10. What about decorations?

  • Decorations with Fresh Flowers (non edible) and Fresh Fruit are subject to season availability.

  • If you'd like to use Edible Fresh Flowers those will need to be ordered well in advance.

  • Other type of decorative options include:

      - Chocolate​ Artwork (Sails, Barks, Bowls, Spheres)

      - Rice or Wafer Paper Art

      - Sugar-paste Elements

      - Buttercream Art (Palette Knife Art)

      - Pressed Edible Flowers
